Health Sector
Lusaka reported advancements in tackling staff shortages, verifying that 196 health care professionals had moved from contractual roles to permanent and pensionable status.
Furthermore, 235 healthcare personnel, comprising 20 physicians, were employed under permanent contracts, whereas 548 individuals joined through temporary agreements. Additionally, 190 employees got promoted, boosting their spirits.
The stipends for community health workers have been increased, and improvements are underway at healthcare centers, such as the introduction of a new Health Management Information System designed to enhance service delivery.
Infrastructure (Roads)
The local government in Lusaka has improved road connections by paving major routes such as Mama Fanta-Mwireri Road, Salmond Road, and Lusaka Road. Furthermore, over 727 kilometers of streets have been covered with gravel throughout all 45 districts.
Moreover, 8.9 kilometers of roadway have been asphalted, along with the completion of 32 box culverts and six significant bridges. Current initiatives involve graveling 188 kilometers of roads and building an extra five box culverts.
Trade Sector
