4 Southeast Asian Cities Shine in Asia's Top Destinations by DestinAsian Awards

Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Kuala Lumpur are the four Southeast Asian entries on the top ten list of the best cities in Asia as per the yearly Reader's Choice Awards conducted by travel magazine DestinAsian.

Bangkok, the vibrant heart of Thailand, took the top position.

"Bangkok is a bustling metropolis home to 11 million inhabitants, where ancient temples coexist with sparkling high-rises, pleasure crafts sail along the winding Chao Phraya River as the BTS Skytrain crosses above congested streets filled with vehicles, and both street cuisine and gourmet dining hold equal importance," the publication pointed out.

The city is equally renowned for its magnificent Buddhist pagodas, attracting visitors who frequently wear traditional Thai attire for photos.

Singapore , known for its low crime rates and stringent laws, came in at number two on the list, with Tokyo following closely behind.

Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, featuring a mix of French colonial structures, contemporary skyscrapers, and vibrant energy. nightlife secured the fourth position, with Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur completing the list of the top five.

The last five positions were claimed by Hong Kong, Seoul, Sydney, Shanghai, and Taipei.

These accolades honor the best locations, accommodations, air carriers, and travel services throughout Asia, as determined by ballots cast by numerous global travelers. The listings emphasize superior service standards, memorable journeys, and customer contentment.
