Nairobi - Ex-NTV reporter Kennedy Murithi has once more passionately appealed to President William Ruto, requesting his consideration for the role of Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana.

On Friday, March 21, 2025, Murithi posted a video expressing his optimism and resolve. He mentioned having looked over the most recent roster of governmental positions and observed that the opening for Ghana was still unoccupied.
Murithi initially announced his interest in the position on January 10, 2025, following former ICT Cabinet Secretary Margaret Ndung’u’s refusal of the ambassadorial role.
He had wished for his qualifications to be taken into account, however, after several months, he still hasn’t gotten an answer from the authorities.
Unshaken, the ex-senior political affairs correspondent turned to social media to jog Ruto's memory about his previous plea, now with an added touch of music.
"Yesterday we learned about your appointments for different roles. Kennedy Murithi here is still awaiting his turn. After reviewing the complete list, I observed that you haven’t assigned anyone as an ambassador to Ghana, suggesting that you might still be contemplating my appointment," he stated in the video.
Why might Ruto view Murithi as significant?
The journalist maintained that young Kenyans are prepared to contribute to their nation, emphasizing the recent appointments of youth in President Ruto’s cabinet.

“President, I’m recording this brief video not to exert pressure on you but to refresh your memory about my qualifications, which were previously shared via another video, and to reaffirm my desire to take up the role of Kenya’s ambassador to Ghana. I am prepared for this, and indeed, the youth of Kenya are also ready. It has been observed that you’ve provided young individuals with chances; kindly include Kennedy Murithi among those fortunate few. In Kenya, we’re eager to contribute our efforts,” he said.
Humorously, Murithi launched into a rendition of Christina Shusho’s gospel hit, "Unikumbuke," which means "remember me" in Swahili, as he encouraged the president to think about his application.
