
As many as 200 Iranian tourists arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday on the first charter flight from the Middle Eastern country to Vietnam, marking a milestone in the bilateral tourism cooperation.
Before wrapping up their trip on March 28, they will explore the southern, central, and northern areas of Vietnam.
Officials from the city’s tourism department stated that choosing Vietnam as a travel destination during Nowruz, Iran's traditional new year festivity, highlights the nation’s increasing attractiveness.
Their schedule highlights Vietnam’s culturally significant sites such as the Cu Chi Tunnels, Ben Thanh Market, War Remnants Museum, Ho Chi Minh City Post Office, Ba Na Hills, Hoi An Ancient Town, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, and Hoan Kiem Lake.
During their extensive 10-day and 9-night trip through Vietnam, they will be lodging at several distinguished accommodations, such as the New World Saigon, Equatorial Ho Chi Minh City, Four Points by Sheraton Da Nang, and Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi.
A spokesperson from the city’s Tourism Department stated that this chartered flight marks an important milestone in Vietnam's initiatives to revitalize global travel.
Venturing into the Middle Eastern market will not only broaden the nation's pool of tourists but also open up possibilities for developing high-end tourism offerings, enhancing service standards, and bolstering Vietnam’s standing in the international tourism landscape.
In the future, the department intends to work closely with industry allies to create enticing tourism offerings designed for the preferences of global travelers. Additionally, they aim to boost promotion efforts to draw larger tourist groups into the nation.
The arrival of the second batch of 200 Iranian visitors in Hanoi is set for March 28. These travelers plan to visit notable tourist attractions across Northern, Central, and Southern Vietnam from their arrival date up till April 5.
