Lahore [ Pakistan On March 22 (ANI), the Deputy Commissioner revealed that Lahore has turned down a request submitted by the ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan 's political party, Pakistan Tehreek-i-insaaf ( PTI ) for organizing a public assembly at Minar-i-Pakistan Pakistan Owing to security issues and the prevailing law and order situation in the nation, Dawn reported this.

As per Dawn, the application was turned down "owing to significant security concerns, threats, and the prevailing law and order circumstances in the nation."

This decision comes after PTI , via its Punjab Vice President Akmal Khan Bari, requested approval on March 22.

According to Dawn, DC Syed Musa Raza announced in a directive released on Friday that the rejection of the application was made based on the recommendations from the District Intelligence Committee (DIC).

The DIC mentioned approving authorization for PTI Organizing the public assembly on March 22 is unfeasible due to prevailing security concerns, and it was noted that this date coincides with the death anniversary of Hazrat Ali, a significant religious leader for Shia Muslims; hence, security forces would be engaged in managing related events. Additionally, the statement mentioned that law enforcement agencies are already confronting serious threats to their lives.

According to Dawn, Bari in a video message stated that the incumbent government should resign if it could not give security to its people. It also mentioned that the Lahore The High Court dismissed on Friday PTI 'S request asking for approval of a public assembly at Minar-i-Pakistan Pakistan given the deputy commissioner's choice.

Judge Farooq Haider listened to the plea submitted by PTI Leader Akmal Khan Bari, who confronted the authorities about their inability to address the party's request.

The Additional Advocate General Balighuz Zaman provided a response on behalf of the local administration, stating that the deputy commissioner possessed the authority to approve or reject permissions for the assembly.

Dawn stated that the judge instructed the legal officer to furnish copies of the government’s response and the DC’s decision to the petitioner's lawyer, noting that the petitioner was entitled to contest the authorities’ ruling. (ANI)
