Mahmoud Qmati, a Hezbollah political bureau member, has cautioned that "the United States aims to turn Lebanon into an American colony" and added that "pressure from the U.S. could push the nation towards chaos and civil conflict."
He nonetheless affirmed that President Joseph Aoun, Speaker Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam "are not interested in compromising stability in Lebanon," during an interview with Radio Voice of Freedom.
Noting that Hezbollah has given the government “an open-ended chance to end Israeli occupation and halt the violations,” Qmati said “the resistance’s military capabilities are still powerful and ready to confront any aggression when the time comes,” adding that “Israel wants to expand the buffer zone and Washington does not respect the Lebanese formula.”
"The army will adhere to the political decision, and our relationship with it has been and continues to be positive," Qmati stated.
We fought alongside the army," stated the Hezbollah official, further noting that "the Lebanese Army alone cannot address all the dangers encircling us from every direction; thus, we must support them as citizens, resistance fighters, and political groups.
He additionally stated that he thinks there won't be a military attack on Iran.
