Romania's Top Security Council to Tackle National Defense and Ukraine Conflict in Upcoming Meeting

Interim president Ilie Bolojan announced The forthcoming CSAT meeting, set for Friday, March 28, will take place at the Cotroceni Palace in Bucharest.

The meeting’s agenda encompasses various crucial subjects, with particular emphasis on the current state and prospective developments regarding the continuing conflict in Ukraine "in light of Russia's unlawful and unwarranted invasion," as stated in the announcement made by the Romanian Presidency. Discussions will delve into how this conflict impacts Romania and examine the nation's role within the negotiations intended to resolve tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

Moreover, the gathering will examine a report detailing the operations of national security agencies in 2024 and establish primary goals for 2025.

The CSAT will likewise provide a report on its activities from the previous year.

Various present-day national security concerns will likewise be tackled during the session.

On March 6, when asked whether he would call upon the CSAT to discuss cancelling the elections, as demanded by the prime minister, Ilie Bolojan stated that a CSAT meeting would indeed take place during the first quarter of the year, though not with the intention of nullifying the votes.
