
Mumbai (Maharashtra), India, March 21 (ANI): The much-anticipated movie L2: Empuraan is set to premiere on March 27, with director Prithviraj Sukumaran has shed light on the difficulties encountered during its creation.
The film, starring Mohanlal was filmed across various global settings such as Turkey, France, London, Yemen, Senegal, Iraq, and China.
The movie's preview clip dropped on Thursday. Prithviraj Sukumaran unveiled that locating perfect spots for filming posed the greatest difficulty.
The star of 'Salaar' disclosed that he spent two years traversing the globe to locate perfect spots for filming the movie.
When talking with ANI, he mentioned, "The primary hurdle was filming in actual settings across the globe. It consumed about two years of my time to journey worldwide and pinpoint suitable places for shooting. This extensive search was quite lengthy."
The director additionally addressed the difficulties involved in transporting a substantial team across various cities and nations.
He went on, saying, "After pinpointing these places, the real difficulty came from traveling globally with our large group. The logistics involved in shifting a sizable team across different urban areas within various nations proved to be the most significant hurdle for us."
Prithviraj Sukumaran commended his production team, which included producer Antony Perumbavoor, line producers Suresh Balaje and George Pius, creative director Nirmal Sahadev, and associate director Vava.
"Full credit goes to my fantastic production team, led by my producer Antony Perumbavoor, along with line producers Suresh Balaje and George Pius, creative director Nirmal Sahadev, and associate director Vava. From a director’s point of view, everything went incredibly smoothly; it felt as though the entire film operated seamlessly, much like finely tuned machinery. However, I’m certain that behind the scenes, these individuals were putting in round-the-clock efforts to make this possible," stated Prithviraj during an interview with ANI.
Superstar Mohanlal highlighted the benefits of an all-India film such as L2: Empuraan, noting that this boosts the movie’s potential for success due to increased screen availability and a wider audience base.
During his conversation with ANI, he stated, "Prithviraj mentioned that in terms of budget, this is a significant project for a Malayalam movie. We've had two years of prep time. However, we have undertaken similar large-scale productions before, without a doubt."
He went on, saying, "However, the potential for movies like these has grown significantly today. If one succeeds, it could be hugely successful because they're considered pan-Indian films now. With choices expanding into languages like Tamil and Telugu, opportunities have widened compared to before. In 'Empuraan,' though, we made sure to generate substantial buzz as it was set up to make a major impact."
Following the huge success of its initial installment in 2019, the Prithviraj Sukumaran The film 'L2: Empuraan,' directed by an acclaimed director, is among the most eagerly awaited movies of 2025.
Apart from Mohanlal The movie also features Tovino Thomas, Abhimanyu Singh, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Manju Warrier, along with several other actors.
According to the trailer, the second part of the movie explores themes of social-political drama with Mohanlal Centered around 's character, the video bursts with intensity and unfolds as a cinematic extravaganza. Mohanlal exhibiting a commanding and larger-than-life screen presence as Khureshi-Ab'raam.
The movie is anticipated to provide an engrossing look at Khureshi's history and highlight a battle for dominance inside the political organization.
