Minnesota Zoo Reveals Exciting Opening Date for Red Panda Exhibit

Red panda siblings Cedar and Spruce are all set to make their first appearance at the Twin Cities zoo.

According to a press release, the Minnesota Zoo plans to unveil the Red Panda Forest Exhibit on May 31. This new habitat will be home to two adorable red pandas who will join Douglas, a Western Tufted Deer, as well as two Red-Crowned Crane siblings.

The pandas' habitat will mimic the environment of the Himalayan foothills, which is native terrain for red pandas. Cedar and Spruce came into being at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo located in Nebraska. Zoo employees informed KARE 11 in previous statements. .

The exhibition has been in development for over a year. The Minnesota Zoo previously housed a resident red panda back in 2021.
