Nivaran Foundation Unveils $18M Global Initiative to Transform Healthcare Access

Nepal, March 21 — The Nivaran Foundation, an NGO dedicated to eradicating poverty and inequality, will initiate a project valued at $18 million aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility within the rural areas of Nepal starting in May.

The organization unveiled the initiative during an event conducted in the capital city on Friday.

During the event, officials from the organization stated that Project Sanjeevani seeks to enhance the well-being of individuals living in rural regions of Nepal who lack proper medical care, by offering them convenient and cost-effective access to high-quality healthcare services.

At the event, Ujwal Subedi, who serves as the Fundraising and Development Manager for the organization, emphasized the foundation's dedication to increasing benefits for rural areas by reducing overhead expenses.

In most cases, donor agencies work alongside International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs). These INGOs subsequently team up with their Nepalese branches before joining forces with local entities. However, this multi-level approach leads to a 25% reduction in funds available for those who truly require assistance due to administrative expenses," explained Subedi. "To maximize aid effectiveness, we plan to bypass intermediary levels and establish direct ties with the donors instead.
