Washington [US], March 22 (ANI): Apple has formally announced the renewal of its highly praised thriller series 'Severance' for a third season ahead of the debut of the show’s second-season finale, titled 'Cold Harbor.'
Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed this information through a social media interaction with the show’s director and executive producer, Ben Stiller.
Following 'Severance''s success in becoming Apple's most-streamed show, beating out the hit sitcom 'Ted Lasso,' the renewal has been announced according toDeadline.
Although Apple hasn't announced a release date for season three, Stiller has assured viewers that they won't need to wait another three years for more episodes.
He clearly stated in an interview, as reported byDeadline, that making fans wait for so long was certainly not the objective.
The star-studded cast of 'Severance,' nominated for a SAG Award, features Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette.
The show, penned by Dan Erickson and helmed by Stiller, centers around Mark Scout (played by Scott), who leads a team at Lumon Industries. The catch: his workers have had a severance procedure that splits their professional and private recollections apart.
As Mark explores further into the enigma enveloping the corporation, he starts to doubt the genuine essence of both his tasks and his identity.
Stiller conveyed his enthusiasm for coming back for season three, stating, "Being involved with Severance has been among the most artistically thrilling endeavors I have experienced," according toDeadline.
Adam Scott added: "I can't be more thrilled to return to work alongside Ben, Dan, the outstanding cast and crew, Apple, and the entire Severance team."
Dan Erickson, the creator and executive producer of the series, stated, according toDeadline, "The prospect of producing additional Severance episodes with the most exceptional ensemble of actors and staff on the planet excites me more than every single one of the world’s finger traps put together."
Matt Cherniss, who leads programming at Apple TV+, commended the series' achievement, stating, "The irresistible charm created by Ben, Dan, Adam, along with the skilled cast and team behind Severance, is clear for all to see." (ANI)
