Tuesday, June 17, 2025 | 1:42 PM WIB | 0 Views Last Updated 2025-06-18T16:38:37Z

A rail line connecting Surrey and Berkshire will be shut down for seven days as engineers finalize the track improvements.

Services provided by South Western Railway (SWR) will be suspended from Monday until Friday between Staines and Windsor & Eton Riverside.

Network Rail announced on Saturday that there would be no South Western Railway (SWR) services operating between Hounslow and Virginia Water.

Further engineering works are being conducted between Hounslow and Ascot/Woking on Sunday as well.

During the line shutdowns, buses will replace train services.

While the section from Staines to Windsor & Eton Riverside remains closed, train services will not stop at Wraysbury, Sunnymeads, Datchet, and Windsor & Eton Riverside stations.

Services typically operating between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton Riverside will now end their journey at Staines instead.

As part of the line shutdown, 800 yards of rail will be installed on the Black Potts Railway Bridge spanning the River Thames.

Network Rail stated that this involved taking out the old tracks and sleepers from the location followed by laying down new rail lines.

Travelers can utilize the journey planner on the SWR site to check how their trip may be impacted.
