Footy WAG Jules Neale Shares Emotional Journey Through Hypnotherapy Amidst Marriage Fallout

In the wake of a tumultuous marriage breakdown, Australian Football League (AFL) WAG (Wives and Girlfriends) Jules Neale has offered a candid glimpse into her personal healing process, revealing an intense hypnotherapy session that left her in tears for an extended period. The revelation comes as she navigates the aftermath of her split from AFL star Lachie Neale, with whom she shares two young children, Piper, four, and Freddie, one.

Jules has since relocated back to Perth with her children, a move that underscores the significant shifts in her personal life. The public separation became widely known last November when Jules took to Instagram to voice her feelings of betrayal by the Brisbane Lions player, stating he had "betrayed [her] in the most unimaginable way."

Lachie Neale later addressed the situation in January during a press conference, acknowledging his role in the couple's separation. While he refrained from delving into explicit details, whispers of an alleged affair with Jules' former friend, Tess Crosley, had been circulating. Lachie's admission confirmed the couple's separation, leaving many to speculate about the precise circumstances.

Recently, Jules shared an emotional video on her Instagram, providing her followers with an intimate look at her recovery journey. She candidly explained the reason behind her visible distress in the video, stating, "Don't mind my appearance, I've just been crying for an hour straight because I did hypnotherapy."

Her endorsement of the therapy was emphatic. "It was incredible," she expressed. "I just wanted to share it because I thought, like, if anyone's dealing with anything emotionally – any kind of trauma or anything that you go to normal talk therapy for, maybe try hypnotherapy as well, because I feel like that did a lot more for me in one session than talk therapy has before." She elaborated on its effectiveness, suggesting, "It kind of delves a little bit deeper, I suppose. It was really incredible."

Understanding Hypnotherapy

For those unfamiliar, hypnotherapy is a therapeutic practice that utilizes the state of hypnosis for healing purposes. According to the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia, hypnosis is described as:

  • A naturally occurring state of concentration.
  • Characterized by physical and mental relaxation.
  • Resembling a daydream.

The council further explains that during a hypnotic state, specific suggestions can be made to foster improvements in thinking and behavior. This process aims to remove negative thought patterns and facilitate positive changes in a calm and relaxing manner.

The hypnotherapy center Jules frequents in Perth offers a range of services catering to various client needs, including:

  • Addiction management (alcohol and tobacco).
  • Addressing sleep disturbances.
  • Overcoming fears and trauma.
  • Assistance with weight loss challenges.
  • Managing anxiety.

Lachie Neale Breaks His Silence

Jules' openness about her healing process comes shortly after Lachie Neale also spoke at length about the marriage breakdown for the first time. The Brownlow Medal winner detailed the significant personal toll the scandal has exacted on him and his family, admitting his surprise at the intense media scrutiny he has faced.

Speaking on Triple M radio's "The Rush Hour with Dobbo & Elliott," Lachie remarked, "When it's your personal lives and your private matters, you probably don't think it's newsworthy." He acknowledged his public profile as captain of a football club but felt the level of attention was excessive. "It was pretty crazy there for a while, and it's great to have the footy back on, which has taken over the headlines," he added.

Neale described the preceding months as "challenging" but also identified a silver lining in the midst of the personal upheaval. He found solace and a form of therapy in focusing on his training and self-care. "I didn't really drink at all or anything in that period, I felt like I really had to knuckle down and narrow my focus on my football and being there for my kids when I could," he explained. "In a weird way, it helped my football."

Future Prospects and Family Considerations

When questioned about the possibility of a club transfer to be closer to his children in Western Australia at the end of the season, Lachie admitted he must "be real" about the situation. "I’m always thinking about it, and what the future is going to look like," he stated. While it remains a consideration, he is currently focused on the present season. "It’s in the back of my mind, but I brush it aside, we’re only five weeks into the season, but I think in about three or four months from now, I’ll tap into that."

The 32-year-old midfielder indicated that he will assess the sustainability of living far from his children. He expressed confidence in his ability to continue his playing career, with aspirations to play until 2029. The coming months will likely be pivotal as he navigates these significant personal and professional decisions.
