Klim's New Gear: Carbon Helmets & Armor Upgrades

KLIM Unveils Groundbreaking Rogue Armour System: Redefining Adventure Rider Protection

KLIM, the renowned motorcycle gear manufacturer hailing from Idaho, has announced a significant leap forward in rider protection with the introduction of its entirely in-house-developed Rogue armour system. Designed to directly address the unique challenges faced by adventure motorcyclists, this innovative armour is set to become standard in KLIM's 2026 adventure and touring outerwear. Alongside this major development, the brand is also rolling out updated gear and an all-new helmet, signalling a comprehensive refresh for the coming season.

Brent Harden, Motorcycle Category Director at KLIM, expressed his enthusiasm for the new lineup, stating, "KLIM’s 2026 motorcycle lineup represents a major leap forward in rider-focused innovation. We’re thrilled to introduce our all-new Rogue protectors – lighter, thinner, more breathable, and more comfortable than before.”

The Genesis of Rogue Armour: Addressing a Critical Need

The driving force behind the development of KLIM's Rogue armour was a clear need for protective gear that was thinner, lighter, and significantly more breathable, all without compromising on crucial impact absorption standards. This latter point is paramount for KLIM, as CE testing for motorcycle armour mandates passing impact absorption tests under two primary conditions: Ambient and Wet. Furthermore, optional testing conditions – Hot and Cold – exist, and for adventure riders, experiencing the full spectrum of weather conditions is a given.

Recognising a gap in the market, where existing armour failed to consistently meet the demands of diverse adventure riding environments, KLIM took the bold step of developing its own solution. This commitment led to substantial investment in a dedicated Rapid Prototyping Lab and Hard Parts Department. Over an extensive period, hundreds of tests were conducted on a wide array of compounds and structural designs to engineer an armour system capable of achieving both CE Level 1 and Level 2 ratings.

Unpacking the Benefits of Rogue Armour

According to KLIM, the Rogue armour offers a distinct advantage over its predecessors. All KLIM Rogue armour is demonstrably thinner, lighter, and more breathable than the previous armour featured in their GORE-TEX® Adventure and Touring outerwear. In a remarkable feat of engineering, Rogue Level 2 limb pads are now as thin as the prior Level 1 armour.

Crucially, all Rogue Level 1 and Level 2 limb armour successfully passes all four CE testing conditions (Ambient, Wet, Hot, and Cold). This means riders benefit from a more streamlined and adaptable protection package, a significant improvement over anything previously seen in KLIM gear. The enhanced breathability also plays a vital role in maximising the functionality of the waterproof GORE-TEX membrane, allowing for greater rider comfort in a wider range of temperatures and conditions.

Seamless Integration and Future-Proofing

The new Rogue armour comes as standard equipment in all of KLIM's redesigned 2026 adventure and touring outerwear. For riders already invested in KLIM gear, the Rogue armour is fully backwards compatible with previous generations of KLIM jackets and pants. Riders can easily contact KLIM customer service to identify the correct replacement pads for their existing garments. Furthermore, the Rogue armour will be available for separate purchase, allowing riders to upgrade their current riding gear where standard CE pad sizes are utilised.

Expanding Protection with the Rogue EXP Range

Taking its commitment to rider safety a step further, KLIM has introduced the Rogue EXP Level 2 range. As the name suggests, this advanced armour offers expanded coverage, protecting an average of 44% more surface area compared to standard CE-rated pads. The Rogue EXP Level 2 armour is also backwards compatible with previous generations of KLIM's highly regarded Badlands Pro and Badlands Pro A3 jackets and pants, providing an accessible upgrade path for many riders.

A Comprehensive Overhaul for Adventure and Touring Collections

Beyond the revolutionary armour system, KLIM's 2026 adventure and touring collections have undergone a significant reimagining. These updated collections boast a refined GORE-TEX construction, offering enhanced durability and weather protection. Improvements in fit and mobility ensure greater comfort and freedom of movement on long rides. Smartly designed pocket layouts, optimised ventilation systems, and more streamlined touchpoints further contribute to the overall rider experience.

All the gear within these updated collections is designed to work seamlessly with the new Rogue armour, contributing to further weight savings, reduced bulk, and improved breathability. These enhancements collectively ensure that riders are better equipped to tackle any adventure, regardless of the conditions.

Rounding out the extensive upgrades for 2026 is the highly anticipated GT1 Expedition modular carbon helmet, promising to deliver exceptional performance and protection for the most demanding riders.
