Major road closures and detours this weekend in Cleveland

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The city of Cleveland is getting ready for abusy weekend of major downtown events.
That implies major road closures, parking limitations, and traffic adjustments associated with theUSS Cleveland commissioning ceremony and the University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon.
City officials said the USS Clevelandis scheduled to be commissioned on Saturday, May 16, at the North Coast Yard, representing what they refer to as the first instance of a U.S. Navy vessel being commissioned in Ohio.
The three-day event starts on Saturday and runs through Sunday, May 17, throughout downtown and near the lake area.
Authorities stated that road closures will start early on Saturday morning, covering sections of St. Clair Avenue, Lakeside Avenue, and Superior Avenue.
Further closures and ongoing restrictions will be in place on Sunday, impacting main roads from midnight until morning as runners pass through downtown, Ohio City, Tremont, and near Edgewater Park. Certain streets and the Shoreway will stay closed until later in the day.
City authorities asked drivers to anticipate traffic delays.
