Pete Davidson's Staten Island Condo Sale and the Challenges of Parenthood

Pete Davidson, the former Saturday Night Live star, has made a significant move by selling his Staten Island condo at a loss of $400,000. This decision comes amid his recent breakup with Elsie Hewitt, the mother of their daughter, Scottie Rose. The news broke on Thursday, revealing that the couple had split just five months after welcoming their first child together.

Davidson, 32, originally purchased the two-bedroom property in December 2020 for $1.2 million, enjoying sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline. He initially tried to sell it in 2022 for $1.3 million, but by February, the price had been reduced to $850,000. The home eventually went into contract in March and was officially sold this week for $800,000, according to reports.

An insider shared that the sale is part of an effort to "open up funds as they move forward and figure out their next steps." This suggests that the comedian may be preparing for potential child support payments to his ex. Despite the split, both Davidson and Hewitt are reportedly working on things, with a source telling People that they want each other to succeed and be happy. There have been instances where the couple has split and reunited, though it remains unclear if they will rekindle their romance.

The breakup was partially attributed to Davidson's busy schedule. A source told The Sun that while he has been traveling extensively for work, Hewitt felt she needed more support at home after the birth of their daughter. It was a tough situation for Davidson, who needs to balance his career with family life.

Both stars are focusing on their baby girl and working out the best co-parenting solution. Davidson has been juggling a hectic schedule, including attending CinemaCon 2026 and promoting Netflix's The Roast Of Kevin Hart. Weeks prior, claims emerged that the couple faced issues in their relationship, though they were trying to figure things out together.

Despite the challenges, Davidson has been open about his experience as a father. He described "dad life" as "f***ing awesome," highlighting the exhaustion, reward, and cuteness of parenthood. He praised Hewitt as a fantastic mom and expressed his gratitude for her role in their daughter's life.

The actor also shared how protective he feels towards his daughter, describing it as a "primal" feeling. "It's funny. It's like I didn't understand this. You're just ready to fight anyone. It's really funny," he said, before adding that the urge to protect his child has been surprising.

Late last year, it was announced that Davidson and Hewitt welcomed their first child together on December 12. Hewitt took to Instagram to share the news, posting pictures of the newborn and writing, "our perfect angel girl arrived 12/12/2025 scottie rose hewitt davidson ♥️." She later added, "My best work yet, I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief. - elsie. wu tang forever. - pete."

Hewitt occasionally updates her Instagram with photos of their daughter, sharing sweet moments with her followers. Over the weekend, she celebrated Mother's Day with a post featuring snaps of Scottie, writing, "We're all here because of a mother's sacrifice to make herself your first home. I got to be Scottie's ❣️ greatest honor of my life. Happy Mother's Day."
