Earlier in the week, we had an exclusive glimpse into the artificial intelligence advancements being implemented by the U.S. armed forces.

As the applications and powers of AI grow, we are now questioning what conflict will resemble in the years ahead?

PART 1: "Saving lives": Local defense specialists talk about the increasing use of AI in military and warfare.

"Limitations, if you ask me that question, I'd say six months ago, I would have provided you with a list of limitations. However, after what I've learned, experienced, and come across recently, there are no limitations," says Christopher Watkins, president of Watkins Security LLC.

When questioned about AI advancing on the battlefield, Watkins states that we may witness global conflicts becoming more dependent on autonomous artificial intelligence in the coming years.

In five years, military systems will definitely help avoid putting our warfighters in dangerous situations," says Darin Mauzy, Vice President of Operations at Mission Critical Solutions. "The most valuable asset our country has is its people.

Although our nation uses A.I. to safeguard its citizens, "this isn't always the case with our enemies. Some of our adversaries don't hold human life in high regard," states Ed Sheehan, president and CEO of Concurrent Technologies Corp.

Authorities state that our opponents might threaten the United States with greater consequences if artificial intelligence becomes extensively embedded throughout society.

"Every object now contains a microchip. I believe the future will involve scenarios where our adversary could disrupt the entire nation, not just the military," says Bill Polacek, CEO of JWF Industries.

That's where things might potentially go awry.

My worry is that AI might offer nations such as Iran, China, or Russia an affordable method to access your system, understand how to bypass our current safeguards, and potentially damage the defense sector.

Experts claim it's about which nations can best utilize AI to safeguard their data and systems, while simultaneously pushing forward on the offensive front, and according to our local specialists, the United States is leading the way.

"While I have some worries, they aren't major ones since the same tools that our enemies are utilizing, we are also using, and honestly, we're applying them more effectively," says David Partsch, chief data and information officer at CTC.

"You experienced an arms race, I believe now you're in an AI race," adds Polacek.

Professionals emphasize that part of being ready to confront hostile AI involves educating the upcoming generation of cybersecurity professionals with advanced capabilities.

"We show our children how to take the offensive and the defensive roles. They must understand both aspects. You can't master one without the other, and AI is being utilized on both sides of this," said Sarah Kral, a cybersecurity teacher at River Valley STEAM Academy.

We are developing command-line internet utilities and network-related software.
What actions should you take to ensure that personal information remains secure and how can you safeguard it?

At present, in the job market, artificial intelligence is transforming how local defense companies recruit and develop employees.

"AI is significantly impacting the talent we are recruiting," says Mauzy.

We have individuals who have dedicated the first 20 years of their professional lives to education, for instance. We have recruited them and helped them transition into becoming specialists in data analysis, analytics, or artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence is also being integrated into the ways employees develop and advance within our regional defense firms.

They will be capable of performing tasks, such as managing inventory. They will understand these concepts more rapidly since they won't need to start from scratch. They will have access to information much faster.

As AI and robotics advance rapidly for U.S. defense and other areas, there is only one option for our nation to stay ahead of its competitors.

You are either going to go with the current or the current is going to sweep you away.
Therefore, I believe that within the next three to five years, technology will become extraordinary.
