Saving Grace Edtech Transforms as Term 3 Begins

A New Era for Online Education in South Africa

Saving Grace Education Group, a registered institution with the South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute (SACAI), has been serving students from Grades R to 12 through various curricula including CAPS, Cambridge, Special Needs, and Remedial programs. Recently, the group announced a significant transformation: transitioning from a traditional online homeschool into a fully-fledged EdTech online homeschool. This shift marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of digital education in South Africa.

The systems supporting this transition are still under development but will be ready by September 2026. Parents will then be able to move seamlessly from a website enquiry to enrolling their child, making online payments, and accessing both the Parent Portal and the Learning Management System — all within a single, continuous digital journey.

Growing Demand for Digital Education

Data from the online homeschool sector indicates a sharp rise in demand. Between December 2025 and June 2026, over 4,000 parents reached out to Saving Grace Education Group expressing interest in enrolling their children. As this announcement is made, the school continues to register new students for the upcoming term.

“2026 has shown us exactly what parents in the online homeschool sector need: speed,” says the Management Team of Saving Grace Education Group. “For years, the sector has operated like a traditional school. But online homeschooling is a digital sector, and parents expect a digital experience — from landing on our website to their child working inside our Learning Management System in 10 to 20 minutes. That is the standard we are building our business around.”

Marketing and Brand Recognition

Last year, Saving Grace Education Group became the first online homeschool to invest in large-scale marketing. The organization launched a billboard campaign in Gauteng, marking a first for the sector. The campaign aimed to educate South African parents about homeschooling as a legitimate alternative in today’s education landscape and to establish the organization as a recognizable brand.

The campaign was successful, prompting a reevaluation of how the school delivers education. This led to the decision to transition from an online homeschool into an EdTech online homeschool. The infrastructure systems behind this transition are currently being implemented and will be ready by September 2026, ahead of the 2027 enrollment period.

Technology-Driven Education

The core reason for the transition is data: online homeschooling is a growing industry, and delivering quality education to students across South Africa and the rest of the continent over the next ten years requires robust technology infrastructure. To meet this demand, Saving Grace Education Group has invested heavily in technology, including AI tools and purpose-built education systems.

The group has also recruited education technologists and software developers to build tools that benefit students. The results are already live across the platform:

  • A digital student onboarding system that takes new families from enrolment to active learning within minutes
  • A login and ticket support portal that tracks every parent enquiry in real time
  • A faster report card system, with reports delivered within hours rather than days
  • Enhanced web-based admin and communication tools for quicker response times
  • A new Student Portal for parents — follow your child’s full learning journey in one place: attendance, engagement on Canvas, assessment submissions, school communication, and report cards generated directly from the portal

Building Tools for the Future

The transition also signifies a shift in what Saving Grace Education Group builds. “We don’t only offer education to students,” adds the Management Team. “We create education tools that support our students and their parents. Every system we launch is designed to make quality education faster, simpler and more accessible for African families.”

Term 3 enrollment is now open. Families can enroll online and begin learning the same day.
