
Washington D.C., [USA], March 21 (ANI): The celebrity known for "Bridgerton" Rege-Jean Page is scheduled to both star in and produce the new adaptation of 'The Count of Monte Cristo,' which is based on the renowned novel by the same title penned by Alexandre Dumas , reported Deadline.
The film will commence production under Department M , the independent production company established by top-tier producers Mike Larocca and Michael Schaefer.
As reported byDeadline, the initial iconic book was authored by Alexandre Dumas And it tells the story of a young sailor wrongly charged with treachery, who, following many years in captivity, breaks free and pursues vengeance upon those who unjustly harmed him, eventually transforming into the affluent Count of Monte Cristo.
This isn't the first instance of Hollywood adapting one. Alexandre Dumas In 2002, the novel 'The Count of Monte Cristo' was adapted into a film featuring Guy Pearce and Jim Caviezel in leading roles, directed by Kevin Reynolds.

The actor’s additional works encompass the Paramount movie 'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,' the Russo Brothers’ production 'The Gray Man,' Shonda Rhimes’ TV series 'For the People,' and his breakthrough performance as 'Chicken George' in 2016's History Channel miniseries 'Roots,' which was nominated for seven Emmy Awards.
In the meantime, Page was most recently spotted acting alongside Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett in Steven Soderbergh's movie 'Black Bag,' which hit theaters just last week.
According to Deadline, the movie has been met with enthusiastic praise from both critics and viewers following its launch. (ANI)
