Kenyan citizens have been advised to ignore politicians who are trying to obstruct the implementation of Taifa Care and should proceed with registering for the program.
Governor Anne Waiguru of Kirinyaga stated that those who are criticizing the program have their coverage completely sponsored.
" Ignore what the politicians say; they will try to deceive you. Even though they claim registration is unnecessary, remember they might have hidden agendas," she stated.
She stated, "If they wish to determine whether Taifa Care is effective, they ought to visit Kirinyaga and witness firsthand the impact of the Taifa Care initiative."
As she stated, Taifa Care aims to enhance the effectiveness of service provision, guaranteeing accessible and high-quality health care at reasonable costs for every Kenyan.
"As a result of implementing this new system, I can now track and assess activities within our hospitals from my computer. It allows me to observe patient visits at each facility, evaluate the demand, and correlate it with the necessary supplies," explained the Governor.
Waiguru additionally mentioned that the implementation of Taifa Care and digital systems has considerably aided the decentralized entity in boosting revenue collection at healthcare centers.
“We were struggling in collection of revenue in county health facilities where we have been collecting between Sh130 million and Sh140 million but this year we gave ourselves a target of Sh200 million and you know what, March is not even over and we have surpassed our target," she said, adding that they are projecting revenue collection to reach Sh300 million by June.
