A Night Out in Manhattan
Dianna Russini and her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, were seen enjoying a night out in Manhattan on Saturday, surrounded by a large group of friends at a bar near Madison Square Garden. The event took place ahead of a concert by Bruce Springsteen, one of the most anticipated shows in the city. Despite the recent scandal that has been making headlines, the couple appeared to be in high spirits, relishing the moment with their friends.
Russini, who was previously an NFL reporter for The Athletic, found herself at the center of a controversy last month when photographs emerged showing her holding hands with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at an adults-only resort in Arizona. This led to her resignation from her position. However, on Saturday, there was no sign of any tension between her and Goldschmidt, as they were seen laughing and enjoying themselves with their group of 10-15 friends.
A witness reported that the couple looked happy and carefree, with their group being very excitable as they shared drinks and food. The bar, which is known for its lively atmosphere before shows, was busy, but Russini seemed unfazed by the possibility of being recognized.
The Scandal and Its Aftermath
Russini, who resides in New Jersey, has always denied having an affair with Vrabel, who is also married. In her resignation letter, she emphasized that she would not let the scandal define her career. Vrabel, however, took a different approach when he addressed the media after the NFL draft in April. He expressed his accountability for his actions and acknowledged the impact it had on his family, the team, and the fans.
Following this, Vrabel started counseling and missed part of the draft, expressing his desire to be a better example as a husband, father, and coach. Meanwhile, Russini deleted her social media accounts as more pictures of her and Vrabel surfaced.
The most damaging images showed them getting intimate as early as March 2020 at a bar in Tribeca, just a few miles from where she was relaxing with friends on Saturday. Video footage also revealed a romantic boat trip that allegedly took place months before she gave birth to her first son.
The Boat Trip and Other Clippings
Russini and Vrabel reportedly rented a vessel for two or three hours in June 2021, when he was still coaching the Tennessee Titans and she was covering him for ESPN. A source confirmed that they were the only people on board, and this was supported by a signed company waiver reviewed by TMZ.
Russini gave birth to her first son, named Mike, in August 2021. TMZ reported that she named him after her brother, Michael Russini, not the now-Patriots coach.
Another flirty clip emerged from a Barstool podcast episode where Vrabel and Russini participated in a Family Feud-style game. In the clip, Russini, sitting on her bed, was asked what a man might do to get a woman in the mood. She replied, "Kiss her! This is good advice for you guys." Vrabel then responded, "I'm paying very close attention. I'm so excited."

Reflections on Marriage
A clip from a 2021 episode of ESPN's Get Up was recently unearthed, during which Russini discussed her marriage. She said, "I'm married to someone average. I don't post a lot about him. If I was married to someone beautiful, I'd over-post too." Her co-hosts gave her a chance to correct herself, and she explained, "We're average together."
Despite the past controversies, it seems that both Russini and Vrabel are moving forward. On Saturday night, they were seen enjoying one of the hottest tickets in town to see the final New York show of Springsteen's sold-out tour.
Moving Forward
Vrabel has recently returned to coaching with the Patriots, taking the first steps in building up to the 2026 NFL season. He has overseen rookie minicamp, while excitement for football's return has ramped up with the release of the new campaign schedule. The Patriots will start their season with a Super Bowl rematch against the Seattle Seahawks before hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers, who confirmed the return of Aaron Rodgers on Saturday night.
While Russini left her job with The Athletic, the Patriots have continued to support Vrabel as their head coach. He has a history with the team, having won the Super Bowl three times as a player for the Patriots as well.

New Beginnings
As the couple continues to navigate their personal and professional lives, it appears that they are focusing on the future. Their presence at the Springsteen concert symbolizes a step towards moving past the recent challenges. With the NFL season approaching and the Patriots preparing for the upcoming campaign, both Russini and Vrabel seem to be looking ahead with optimism.
