The Somali National Army (SNA), together with local militias, has initiated extensive operations against Al-Shabaab across multiple districts in the Middle Shabelle region, according to military statements.
General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, commander of the SNA Ground Forces, who is stationed on the frontlines, confirmed that significant efforts are underway to eliminate Al-Shabaab from the region.
He commended the courage demonstrated by the SNA and local forces following their recent successes against the terrorist organization.
Currently, Al-Shabaab is enduring significant assaults, as their key areas are under attack from both aerial bombings and land operations.
Previously prevalent across much of Somalia, the organization seems to be retreating, having relinquished control over various regions it once held.
Al-Shabaab has carried out many assaults in Mogadishu and various parts of the nation since it initiated hostilities against the Somali government and AU forces.
