The Chief Minister stated that although our ancient texts instruct us to maintain physical and mental well-being via practices like yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation, subjects including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, grammar, biology, physics, chemistry, medicine, and astronomy reveal profound secrets that continue to astonish contemporary mathematicians and scientists alike.
He stated that it’s crucial for the youth of today to know about how ancient Indian mathematicians pioneered unique ideas such as zero and decimals, foundational elements upon which contemporary science rests. It is essential to inform today’s younger population about numerous similar wonders; occasions like Shastraotsav could serve as significant platforms for this enlightenment.
CM stated that it is essential to motivate and educate the younger generation about our extensive cultural inheritance, the ascetic practices undertaken by ancient scholars, and their efforts to preserve this legacy. These events play a crucial role in promoting the multifaceted wisdom developed by these seers. Additionally, they significantly aid in passing down India’s customs, traditions, and heritage to upcoming generations.
The Chief Minister stated that due to the capable guidance of India’s distinguished Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today, the nation's traditional knowledge and cultural heritage are regaining recognition on an international scale. Inspired by his example, the state government continues to work diligently toward safeguarding and promoting the rich ancient traditions and wisdom within the state.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that all academics would carefully contemplate these topics and assist the upcoming generation of students in grasping the significance of the Vedas and Upanishads, which form the cornerstone of India’s intellectual heritage.
CM Dhami stated that the numerous contests held during this festival will serve as a significant endeavor to keep our traditional shastras vibrant even in contemporary times, much like how Adi Shankaracharya ji illuminated the essence of knowledge across all of India through his comprehensive understanding.
