Google Chrome Update Boosts Text Zoom and Accessibility Features

Washington [US], May 18 (ANI): Google has introduced a major update for Chrome on Android, enabling users to magnify text without altering the webpage’s layout.

As reported by The Verge, this functionality is especially helpful for people finding it difficult to read tiny fonts or those wanting to highlight particular parts of the text without having to enlarge the whole page.

The revised Page Zoom function can be reached by clicking the three-dot menu located at the upper-right section of Chrome and then choosing the preferred text size.

A sliding control will show up, enabling users to modify the text size according to their liking. This adjustment can be made for specific sites or across all browsed pages.

Google is additionally rolling out various accessibility features. features , including Optical Character Recognition (OCR): The OCR feature in Chrome can now automatically recognize scanned PDFs on desktop devices, allowing users to highlight, copy, and search for text. Additionally, this enables the use of screen readers.

An additional feature includes integration with Gemini along with TalkBack: The screen reader for Android, known as TalkBack, enables users to inquire further about images, including recognizing objects, colors, and textures.

A third feature is expressive captions which provides real-time captions for audio content across most apps on Android devices, capturing not only what someone says but also how they say it.
