Ho Chi Minh City has emerged as Vietnam’s premier startup hub, making its debut among the top five innovative startup ecosystems in Southeast Asia.
As per a report published by StartupBlink—a widely recognized metric for assessing startup environments—the southern city has climbed up the global rankings for four successive years, notably within the Fintech domain where significant expansion has occurred. The city currently stands among the world’s top 30 hubs for Blockchain technology and ranks second in Southeast Asia.
This city stands out as the liveliest and most energetic startup center in Vietnam. It has progressed substantially in building supportive infrastructure and is slowly emerging as a key location within Asia, largely due to its innovative and entrepreneurial startup ecosystem, robust backing from local government bodies, and a continually enhancing commercial climate.
Lam Dinh Thang, who leads the municipal Department of Science and Technology, noted that Ho Chi Minh City’s improvement in the StartupBlink rankings is a deserved acknowledgment of the collaborative endeavors by the local government and the vibrant startup community in this bustling southern hub.

The southern hub aims to cultivate and seek guidance from specialists regarding a strategy to boost its innovation-led startup environment for the duration of 2025 through 2030. This crucial preliminary measure aligns with achieving the goals outlined by the Politburo, aiming to place Ho Chi Minh City within the top 100 most vibrant global startup ecosystems in the near future.
