Los Angeles [USA], March 20 (ANI): Mikey Madison is reveling in the success of her Oscar victory following her role in 'Anora'.
In Sean Baker's "Anora," Mikey takes on the part of a young sex worker from Brooklyn.
When selecting Mikey for the role, Baker remembered, “Despite having limited screen time in 'Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood,' she left an indelible mark. Her versatility in taking on various characters, effortlessly shifting her expressions, her comedic timing, her courage in making bold decisions, and her phenomenal scream were what caught our attention. We immediately contacted her after observing these qualities. Following a meeting where we discovered that Mikey shared a passion for cinema akin to ours and showed enthusiasm for my concept, the part was tailored specifically for her.”
Madison was excited about the outreach – and taken aback, as mentioned in a press release.
She remembered being stunned that Sean wished to meet her, yet she didn’t intend to doubt it.
"I really admire his body of work, and 'Tangerine' happens to be among my favorite films. I had a meeting with Sean and Samantha over coffee where they shared an incredible and wild concept with me. Sean sought out my thoughts and whether I’d be keen on bringing their vision to life through filmmaking. Without hesitation, I agreed. It made me feel incredibly fortunate to have been chosen by him as part of his project," Madison mentioned additionally.
At the 97th Academy Awards, Anora was a big victor, securing five Oscars such as Best Picture and Best Director. After its successful awards season, the movie can now be streamed solely on JioHotstar’s Peacock Hub. (ANI)
