The Higher Scientific Council in Morocco has set the Zakat al-Fitr amount for 2025. It can be given in food or money. They suggest giving staple foods that everyone in the country eats.
The amount should be one "prophetic sa'," which is four "mudds" by the Prophet's measure. This is about 2.5 kilograms of grain or flour per person.
The Council also says the cash value is 23 dirhams. You can give more if you like. God appreciates those who give generously.
It's best to give Zakat al-Fitr after the Fajr prayer but before the Eid prayers. But, you can also give it one or two days before Eid. You can also give it in money if that's easier for you.
