Wingstop opened its first Irish location on Monday morning at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in Dublin.

The grand opening attracted a queue of over one hundred people before 11am, with many gathering as early as 4am.

The chicken wing restaurant has over 2,000 branches worldwide and Irish customers were eagerly awaiting for it to arrive in the Emerald Isle.

Wingstop promised the first 100 customers eight free wings, which appears to have boosted the massive attendance.

The American chain, which was founded in Texas in 1994, specialises in buffalo wings but also boasts tenders, burgers, sides, milkshakes and churros.

Wingstop is already available on Deliveroo in the nearby area.

The outlet has a long list of sauces and seasonings to choose from, including the fan-favourite Lemon Pepper, Mango Habanero, Louisiana Rub and the spicy Atomic.

The Liffey Valley shop is located at the Yellow Car Park entrance, which has undergone significant renovation, where a former Starbucks sat.

The new location will be managed by Lemon Pepper Holdings, who launched their first UK site in 2018.

There are now 75 Wingstop locations in the UK, which employ over 3,000 staff. Chris Sherriff, CEO of Wingstop UK & Ireland, remarked that the brand was ‘beyond excited’ to finally launch in Dublin.

He praised the city’s ‘electric’ food and music scene after a Button Factory launch party last week.

Previously, a spokesperson said: ‘Ireland has an energy that matches our own and we can’t wait to connect with local brands, creatives and charities to make a difference in the communities we will serve.

‘We’re also proud to be creating more than just job opportunities in Ireland. Through our training and development programmes, crew members joining Wingstop UKI will have the chance to build meaningful careers, with leadership opportunities and the ongoing support they need to succeed.

‘Wingstop UKI is a highly scalable business, and we have ambitious plans to open more locations across the country. We know our delicious wings and bold flavours will prove to be a hit with Irish customers and we can’t wait to welcome them in store.’
