Dianna Russini Distracts From Mike Vrabel Scandal With Husband and Friends

A Night Out in Manhattan

Dianna Russini and her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, were seen enjoying a night out in Manhattan on Saturday, joining a group of friends at a bar near Madison Square Garden before attending a Bruce Springsteen concert. The couple was spotted in high spirits, clearly having a great time with their friends.

This event came after a recent scandal that shook the NFL world. Last month, photos surfaced showing Russini holding hands with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at an adults-only resort in Arizona. This led to her resignation from her role as an NFL reporter at The Athletic.

Despite the controversy, the couple seemed to be moving past the issues. A witness described them as looking in good spirits, with their group being very excitable and enjoying food and drinks. There was no sign of any struggle, even though the scandal has had a significant impact on the NFL community.

"Their group was very lively," the witness said. "They were having a blast with a big group of friends. Lots of food and drinks ordered to their table and they were very carefree given everything that has gone on."

Russini, who resides in New Jersey, where Springsteen is originally from, denied any affair with Vrabel, who is also married. In her resignation letter, she stated that she would not let the pictures define her career.

Vrabel, a father of two, took a different approach when he addressed the media during the NFL draft in April. He expressed accountability for his actions and acknowledged the distraction caused to those he cares about.

He later began counseling and missed part of the draft, aiming to set a better example as a husband, father, and coach.

Meanwhile, Russini deleted her social media accounts as more images of her and Vrabel started to circulate. Some of the most damaging photos showed them being intimate as early as March 2020 at a bar in Tribeca, just a few miles from where she was with friends on Saturday.

A video emerged showing them on a romantic boat trip in June 2021, when Vrabel was still coaching the Tennessee Titans and Russini was reporting on him for ESPN. A source confirmed that they were the only people on board, supported by a signed company waiver reviewed by TMZ.

Russini gave birth to her first son, named Mike, in August 2021. TMZ reported that she named him after her brother, Michael Russini, not the now-Patriots coach.

Another clip emerged from a Barstool podcast episode where Vrabel and Russini participated in a Family Feud-style game. In it, Russini jokingly advised men to kiss women to get them in the mood, and Vrabel responded enthusiastically.

A clip from a 2021 episode of ESPN's Get Up revealed Russini discussing her marriage, saying, "I'm married to someone average." She later clarified that they are "average together."

On Saturday night, the couple seemed to be moving on from their recent issues, attending one of the hottest tickets in town for Springsteen's sold-out tour.

Vrabel has returned to coaching with the Patriots, taking steps to build up for the 2026 NFL season. He recently oversaw rookie minicamp, and excitement for football's return increased with the release of the new schedule.

The Patriots will start their season with a Super Bowl rematch against the Seattle Seahawks before hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers, who confirmed the return of Aaron Rodgers on Saturday night.

While Russini left her job with The Athletic, the Patriots have continued to support Vrabel as their head coach. He has a history with the team, having won the Super Bowl three times as a player for the Patriots as well.
