A Night Out in Manhattan
Dianna Russini and her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, were enjoying a night out in Manhattan on Saturday. The couple was seen with a large group of friends at the Bourbon and Branch Bar, a popular spot near Madison Square Garden where fans gather before shows. This outing took place just days after a scandal involving Russini and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel made headlines.
Last month, a series of photographs emerged showing Russini holding hands with Vrabel at an adults-only resort in Arizona. These images sparked a major controversy that ultimately led to her resignation from her position as an NFL reporter at The Athletic. Despite the scandal, it seemed that both Russini and Goldschmidt were in good spirits during their evening out.
A witness reported that the couple appeared happy and carefree, surrounded by a group of friends who were also enjoying themselves. They ordered plenty of food and drinks, and there was no indication that they were struggling with the recent events. The witness added that Russini didn’t seem concerned about being recognized at the bar, even though it was busy before the show.
Russini, who resides in New Jersey, has consistently denied any involvement in an affair with Vrabel, who is also married. In her resignation letter, she emphasized that she would not let the scandal define her career. Meanwhile, Vrabel addressed the situation in late April, taking responsibility for his actions and acknowledging the impact they had on his family, the football team, and the organization.
Vrabel also began counseling and missed part of the NFL draft, expressing a desire to be a better example for his family and team. Russini, on the other hand, deleted her social media accounts, and more pictures of her and Vrabel continued to surface.
Some of the most damaging images showed them being intimate as early as March 2020 at a bar in Tribeca, just a few miles from where she was celebrating with friends on Saturday. Video footage also revealed a romantic boat trip that allegedly took place months before she gave birth to her first son.

The boat trip reportedly occurred in June 2021 when Vrabel was still coaching the Tennessee Titans and Russini was covering him for ESPN. A source confirmed that Vrabel and Russini were the only people on board, supported by a signed company waiver reviewed by TMZ. Russini later gave birth to her first son, named Mike, in August 2021. TMZ reported that she named him after her brother, Michael Russini, not the now-Patriots coach.

Another clip from a Barstool podcast episode surfaced, featuring Vrabel and Russini in a Family Feud-style game. In one segment, Russini, sitting on her bed, was asked what a man might do to get a woman in the mood. She responded, "Kiss her! This is good advice for you guys." Vrabel then chimed in, saying, "I'm paying very close attention. I'm so excited."

A clip from a 2021 episode of ESPN's Get Up also resurfaced, during which Russini discussed her marriage. She said, "I'm married to someone average. I don't post a lot about him. If I was married to someone beautiful, I'd over-post too." Her co-hosts gave her a chance to correct herself, and she explained, "We're average together."
Despite the past controversies, it seemed that both Russini and Vrabel were moving forward. On Saturday night, they were seen enjoying one of the hottest tickets in town—Bruce Springsteen’s final New York show of his sold-out tour.
Vrabel has recently returned to coaching with the Patriots, taking steps to build up for the 2026 NFL season. He has overseen rookie minicamp, and excitement for the new campaign is growing as the schedule was released this week. The Patriots will start their season with a Super Bowl rematch against the Seattle Seahawks before hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers, who confirmed the return of Aaron Rodgers on Saturday night.
While Russini left her job at The Athletic, the Patriots have remained supportive of Vrabel. He has a long history with the team, having won the Super Bowl three times as a player.
