It's nearly worth traveling to Doha just to witness the stunning futuristic landscape that awaits. Hamad International Airport – a center that’s similar to AI understanding of the ideal airport realized.
It's a realm with shining floors; vast, arched ceilings; enclosed jungle-like gardens; and brilliant boutique stores.
The space also features a Dior spa and an incredibly striking Louis Vuitton lounge offering cuisine prepared by the renowned three-Michelin-starred French chef Yannick Alleno (more on this later).
In 2024, Hamad International rightfully earned the title of ' Top Airport Globally ' at the ' Oscars Of aviation,' the Skytrax awards, for the third consecutive time.
Almost, plane delays here seem desirable.

The initial impression of the airport is its enormity – the passenger terminal stands as the largest structure in Qatar - and the extensive flexibility within.
This is a collision-free area where you might even be able to meditate.
I reach the terminal building for my departure back. Qatar Airways journey to London Heathrow Airport and simply linger in the check-in area, eyes wide with amazement at everything around you.
Overhead lies the stunning, wave-like roof, while beneath it, travelers move about in an area spacious enough for several A380 airplanes.
Is this place an airport or a spaceport?

Once you clear the security check, the query arises: Is this place more of an airport or perhaps the planet’s premier shopping center?
Inside, it feels like a blend of New York's Fifth Avenue, Milan's Via Montenapoleone, and London's Bond Street and Knightsbridge neighborhood.
Similar to Knightsbridge, there is a Harrods here (though somewhat smaller) situated among more than 200 premier shopping and dining establishments.
The brands featured here encompass Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Tiffany, Fendi, Jimmy Choo, Pucci, Valentino, and Armani. Additionally, guests can experience the globe’s premier Armani Ristorante and Caffe located within an airport setting.
Additionally, you can find the globe's premier FIFA store and the planet's first Oreo Cafe within this airport.
Alternative ways to pass the time before your flight involve strolling through the serene 'Orchard,' a 6,000 square meter/64,583 square feet indoor jungle featuring more than 25,000 plants and a waterfall, or you can step into the golf simulator, or engage in a game of squash, all available at the Oryx Airport Hotel. You might also take a dip in their 25-meter-long swimming pool.
I choose instead an hour of joy at the Dior Luxury Beauty Retreat , the globe's premier Dior spa located at an airport (noticed the trend?), followed by a meal at the Louis Vuitton lounge.

The spa is sheer paradise (check out the video) – opulent and serene, where visitors receive some of the fluffiest free slippers offered in the lodging sector for comfortable strolling.
I experience a one-hour Swedish massage that puts me in a deeply relaxed, almost hypnotic state. After savoring a drink from an elegant bone china teacup along with a piece of chocolate in the lobby, I virtually glide into the Louis Vuitton lounge. This space is a sensory delight, featuring captivating floral decorations and sumptuously delicious cuisine.
First to arrive is fresh sushi, then comes a lively Caesar salad made right at your table, followed by a cylindrical serving of tender wagyu beef that melts in your mouth.
The best airport globally? I wouldn’t mind living there.
