Romanian MPs Launch Trusted Tech Caucus: A New Era of Tech Diplomacy Begins

MPs from Various Parties Join Forces to Leverage Technology for Boosting Economy and Enhancing National Security

Members from Romania's parliament, who belong to various political parties, along with representatives, have come together The Krach Institute for Technology Diplomacy at Purdue University The global leaders in reliable technology acceleration are announcing the official launch of the inaugural Parliamentary Trusted Technology Caucus.

This team of lawmakers will collaborate irrespective of their political affiliations to guarantee that Romanian citizens, enterprises, and the nation’s security interests gain from groundbreaking technological advancements while being shielded against the misuse of technology by authoritarian governments and criminals. To commemorate this significant occasion, the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy organized a private briefing for Members of Parliament and sector experts at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest. Len Khodorkovsky , previously served as the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and was a senior advisor to the chairman at the Krach Institute, and Alexandru Nazare , who serves as a board member at the National Bank of Romania and is also part of the advisory council for the Krach Institute, organized this gathering centered around the significance of fostering, implementing, and embracing reliable technologies within Romania, the broader Black Sea area, and further regions.

Various other members of the Krach Institute’s Advisory Council joined the conversation, such as Amb. Adrian Zuckerman , previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Romania, Radu Piturlea , Executive Chairperson at Concelex, and Former Brigadier General Dr. Cătălin Constantin Mihalache , founder and CEO of B2S Black Sea Strategies.

The Romanian plan included in the Digital Decade Country Report The European Commission has outlined crucial 2030 goals for the technology sector, which include fostering 5,000 innovative digital small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), achieving a 2% contribution of innovation to the gross domestic product (GDP), and supporting four unicorn companies founded in Romania that have achieved international success alongside maintaining their headquarters in Romania.

Romanian corporate executives from top technology firms along with scholarly specialists attended the gathering in endorsement of the Trusted Tech Caucus. Key figures from corporations such as Google, Oracle, Samsung, CrowdStrike, Maguay, Cluster Power, among others, highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts between government bodies and private enterprises for advancing technological growth, boosting Romania’s economic development, and safeguarding national security interests.

As part of its continuous support for the caucus, the Krach Institute will offer training sessions to Romanian Members of Parliament via their platform. Tech Diplomacy Academy , a pioneering online portal utilized by the U.S. Department of State and Commerce, NATO, along with leading private sector firms, to train their staff on the convergence of technology, commerce, and public policy.
