Everyone knows that food is more expensive in the capital.

In London, it's not unusual to fork out double digits for a burger of dubious quality - and that's without chips.

But for those with deep pockets, there is no end to the luxury dining options on offer.

It comes as a man has revealed what it's like to try the 'most expensive burger in London' - complete with a caviar garnish and a price tag that'll make your eyes water.

Otto's French Restaurant in Bloomsbury prides itself on offering 'classic, elegant, and romantic Gallic fine dining'.

It was here that Carmie Sellitto, a TikTok creator turned restaurant critic, tried the £300 burger.

Otto's Le Burger Deluxe is crafted from four prime cuts, topped with a lobster claw and an entire pot of caviar. It also comes with white sauce, egg yolk and potato crisps.

The dish is prepared tableside and is also the main course of the 'After Death Experience' menu, which costs £700 per person.

Carmie shared a review on TikTok, which has attracted more than 322,200 views.

'This is the most expensive burger in London,' he said.

'The lobster claw tasted pretty good. The meat was perfectly pink, and the taste blew me away. I was so confused - it was just crazy biting into such expensive meat.

'Then the man who made the burger came over and gave me some mustard, but I was just glad to be in his presence.

'As it is a burger, you're supposed to try it all at once, so I had a bit of everything in my mouthful and trust me, I was blown away. But if you're wondering if I'd spend £300 on this burger again - obviously not.'

In the TikTok, Carmie picks apart the dish, trying the lobster, then caviar, then meat, showing each to the camera before tucking in.

He says he was impressed - but the eye-watering cost means he won't be going back.

He captioned the post: 'I can't believe I spent £300 on this.'

However, not everyone was impressed.  Many viewers pointed out that the 'burger' didn't even come with a bun, sauce or salad.

One user wrote: 'If I were super rich, I would still go to Burger King for my dinner.'

Another added: 'At £300 it should come with its own cow and an acre of field.'

'Who eats a burger with a knife and fork? That's just a fancy meatloaf,' concluded another.
