A Woman Arrested in Connection with the Death of a Tech CEO
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of Neil Muller, the chief executive of a prominent technology firm. The incident occurred at his £2.5 million country home in Claverdon, Warwickshire.
Neil Muller, 54, was found with stab wounds to his chest early on Sunday morning. He was discovered at his gated, five-bedroom property in the upmarket village of Claverdon. Paramedics were called at 6:15 am, but he was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:37 am. An hour later, a woman from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of murder. She has since been released on bail.
Warwickshire Police confirmed that an investigation is underway and stated there is "no wider risk to the public." Mr. Muller had recently taken on the role of CEO at Node4, a technology firm focused on AI-driven managed services. In a statement, a Node4 spokesperson expressed deep sorrow over the loss:

Mr. Muller was appointed as CEO in April this year, with the goal of enhancing the firm’s AI-focused managed services platform, alongside ERP, CRM, and data analytics solutions. The company described him as a "seasoned leader" who previously served as CEO at MSP Digital Space for seven years and was also the head of telecoms firm Daisy before its £1 billion sale fell through.
Community Impact and Personal Life
Mr. Muller was also deeply involved in local community life. He was the manager of Claverdon FC, a local football team, and was married with two children. His father, Brian Muller, 81, told the Daily Mail that the situation was "peculiar," and they were still waiting for more information.
"I had a phone call from the police at 9am on Monday morning to say Neil had died, but we've not been told anything else. We've not had a visit from the police or anything, so we just don't know. We only spoke on the phone last week, but sometimes we go a few months without hearing from him. He's a busy man with work."
Locals in Claverdon described Mr. Muller as a significant figure in the village. One unnamed resident said, "Neil did a lot for the local football club." Another added, "It is a real shock and a real loss to the village."
On Tuesday, a police car was seen parked on the driveway of the Muller family home near Stratford-on-Avon, along with five other vehicles. This suggested ongoing police activity in the area.
Football Club and Recent Activities
In a Facebook post from 2024, the Claverdon football club announced Mr. Muller's retirement as assistant manager of their men's team. However, it appears he remained involved in the club at the time of his death. The club praised his contribution, stating, "The decision to appoint 'Mul' as they called him was one of the greatest decisions we've ever made."
He was photographed next to trophies won by the club during his tenure. The post also noted that he remained a sponsor of the club.
Local reports suggest that Mr. Muller's death occurred the night after an end-of-season award ceremony held at the Red Lion pub. It is unclear whether he attended the event. Club chairman Charlie Waterworth said, "I have heard the news but it is just too early to be making any statements. I am out of the country. I don't know the circumstances. It would be wrong to say anything."
A worker at the Red Lion pub added, "It has come as a massive shock and we really don't want to say anything. It is too early."

Mr. Muller was known for his community involvement and charitable efforts. Last year, he participated in a 200-mile bike ride that raised over £60,000 for a Warwickshire children's charity.
